The Resistance, as this first DLC drop is called, will cost $15, but gamers can also purchase the Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass for $50 and get all four of the expected DLC drops for less.
And I’ve had to wait, in turn, for each DLC drop for each game. I pretty much stick with the multiplayer experience, so each new map is a huge bonus. It kind of sucks having to wait on DLC when this additional content, which is released over the year after each new COD title, is what keeps the game fresh over time. I’ve considered switching to PS4 literally for this reason.
And Xbox gamers like me have been second-class COD citizens ever since. So for the past three releases- Black Ops III, Infinite Warfare(which also included Modern Warfare Remastered), and now WWII-PS4 has received COD DLC first. But in 2015, Sony announced that Activision had switched allegiances. For many years, Activision shipped new COD DLC first on Xbox. But they also get each drop at least 30 days before gamers on Xbox One and PC. It’s bad enough that PS4 gamers get DLC first. Which makes Activision’s policy of shipping DLC-downloadable content, or what I think of as “map packs”-first on PS4 a bit onerous to those not using Sony’s console.
